I used to walk with blindfolds on familiar streets
Cold to a world of walking empaths and the impact they had on me
I was sure I could thaw
but I wondered if i would
If purpose would find me and give walking new meaning
New heights
Staring beyond shop windows into
The eyes of a wish made by mama
I still doubted the magic
Sat scoffing at dreamers and the chances that paid
for more than a bag of chips
I used to doubt the purpose of what could not me explained
Self
Stuck wondering what that meant
And why it made me cry to think of life without the bits that make it mine
One day my sights met with a girl who made her visions sound like symphonies
Her mistakes sound like harmonies amongst a sea of pathways that could span eternities of truth
And though I hadn't looked in years,
I searched harder through the reflections of her tainted smile
I could no longer hide from the mess
I could see what it really was
who she really was
